Kuze Fuku & Sons Anko Spread with Butter

A friend of mine spotted this Kuze Fuku & Sons Anko Spread with Butter at a local Costco in Hawaii. She sent me a picture of it, and I knew immediately that I had to try it. Anko is a spread or paste made with sweet Japanese adzuki beans.

Soon after receiving the message, I picked up a bottle for $8.99 at Costco. Keep reading to find out Anko’s nutrition information, suggested ways to eat it, and more notes.

How to Eat Anko Spread

Suggested ways to eat Anko from the back of the jar.

Suggestions on the back of the jar indicate that Anko is good on waffles, pancakes, ice cream, and toast. I’ve only tried it on toast, but I know all of the suggestions on the bottle would be amazing.

I love to eat it with La Tour Sprouted Bread toast. This bread is made locally in Hawaii. The Anko has the sweetness and thick texture you associate with adzuki beans. After being in the refrigerator, it still spreads nicely.
