Hawai'i Costco Finds
Cedar Lane Chopped Vegetable and Barley Soup

CedarLane Vegetable and Barley Soup

Costco has a great variety of ready-made soups that just require heating, before eating. The CedarLane Vegetable and Barley Soup is a great vegetarian option for one of those soups.

King Oyster Mushrooms

Hamakua Mushrooms

One of my favorite “grown in Hawaii” products at Costco is Hamakua Mushrooms. Sold in an 8 oz. container, the Pleurotus eryngii (a.k.a. King Trumpet Mushroom, King Oyster Mushroom, or Ali’i Oyster) is the largest of the oyster mushrooms. Not only are they beautiful (look at that picture above!), but they taste great when cooked and are quite popular among vegetarian and vegan recipes.

La Terra Fina Quiche from Costco

La Terra Fina Quiche

Quiche is a rich and filling dish, consisting of a pastry crust filled with eggs, cheese, vegetables, and other savory ingredients. Do you love a good quiche? When I saw La Terra Fina Quiche at my local Costco, I knew I had to try it. The preparation directions were quick and easy, and the 2-pack came with 2 different flavors, Aged Gruyère & Chevre and Sharp Cheddar and Broccoli Florets.

Vonbee Passion Fruit Honey Puree

I noticed some people gathering around and checking out this Vonbee Passion Fruit Honey Puree during a recent trip to Costco. A product of Korea, its label states that it can be a “beverage base, salad dressing, & more.” Since I love sweet passion fruit and honey, I thought I’d give it a try.

Ottogi Simply Kimchi-Jeon Mix

I was intrigued by the Ottogi Simply Kimchi-Jeon Mix, as pancakes are one of my favorite things to order at Korean restaurants. Different from American breakfast pancakes, Korean pancakes are savory and crispy, not sweet and fluffy. The instructions looked simple enough, so I thought I’d give this mix a try.
